Manta
AEON’s Floating Wave and Solar Platform
Unlike solar or wind, wave energy is always there. Reliable, constant, powerful, it seems like the perfect clean energy source. However, for many reasons, its potential has been largely untapped.
Firstly, it is extremely challenging to harness wave energy. With big waves come even bigger forces, which a structure must resist whilst still allowing enough motion to generate electricity. For this reason, most wave energy devices operating today sit on the shoreline, thus missing out on the full power of the waves which is lost after interacting with the seabed.
We have changed that.
01.
continuous wave power.
Waves are perennial. By harnessing their energy to power our clients’ grids in an efficient and cost-effective way we have unlocked one additional tool with which to build a net zero future.
02.
Improved Solar Efficiency from Ocean Cooling
Every day the sun throws at us more energy than we could ever need. We just fail to catch it. From land prices to roof ownership, installing solar panels on the ocean removes all of these constraints and increases efficiency by up to 15%.Reliable as a rising sun.
03.
Flat-Packing and Remote Assembly
Every location is unique, but our mission is to serve them all. That is why we have designed the Manta to be easily and efficiently shipped in standard 40ft containers. After arriving at the final location, it can be assembled with nothing more than a wrench and a chain block.
04.
Easy Wind alternative
If the desired installation location has a higher wind energy yield potential, the solar panels can easily be replaced for an array of vertical axis wind turbines. These turbines, depending on the location, can generate up to three times more energy than solar. Unsure which alternative would suit you best? Contact us and one of our experts will be happy to help.
